Paradisus: Hawaiian Plant Watercolors of Geraldine King Tam

Painted between 1984 and 1998, this spectacular body of work includes watercolors of botanical subjects, depicted in various degrees of growth, characterized by a depiction of a branch of the plant in fruit and/or flower, offset with detailed renderings of fruits and flowers in cross-section. The completion of any given painting may take more than a year (sometimes several) when waiting for fruiting or flowering to occur. Geraldine King Tam, a personal friend of Kaye, was recently designated a Living Treasure by the Kauai Museum in Lihue, Hawaii.

The American Society of Botanical Artists, Inc. (ASBA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting public awareness of botanical art and to encouraging the development of this continuing artistic tradition.

The Rocky Mountain Society of Botanical Artists was founded in 1997 and was the first regional chapter of the American Society of Botanical Artists. The Society is open to all artists interested in preserving and growing the tradition of botanical art.
